The Story

A 40-year household name planning ahead of its own growth

Dawn Bread has been a household name in Pakistan for over 40 years, on shelves in more than 100 cities, with frozen foods reaching more than 20 countries. The company’s bakery brands, including Bread & Beyond and Doughstory, have carried that reach even further.

As the business scaled, Dawn Foods’ leadership set out to put one unified standard behind job descriptions, competencies, and job evaluation for the top 4 management bands, a foundational HR architecture to match the size the company had grown into. People Perfect was brought in as the execution partner to design and deliver that standard.

The Objective

Three connected priorities Dawn Foods asked People Perfect to deliver

?

01

Modernize Job Descriptions

Dawn Foods wanted job descriptions rebuilt around current performance goals and KPIs, keeping pace with how each role had evolved.

02

Establish a Shared Competency Framework

Leadership wanted one consistent competency framework applied across roles, so expectations would hold steady company-wide.

The Approach

One methodology, three connected modules

Dawn Foods wanted a global standard, not three disconnected exercises solved in isolation. To deliver it, People Perfect applied Korn Ferry’s Leadership Architecture for job description and competency design, paired with the KF Hay guide chart method for job evaluation.

The work started with job descriptions built to capture the performance goals and KPIs of each role, followed by the competencies and skills required to meet those expectations. From there, People Perfect allotted KF Hay points across 75 unique roles spanning the top 4 tiers of the executive cadre, giving Dawn Foods the clear, defensible read on internal equity they’d asked for — one that sets up a total rewards market salary survey in the next performance cycle.

Running one consistent methodology across all 3 modules meant the results actually correlated with each other, instead of three separate frameworks that didn’t speak the same language — exactly the outcome Dawn Foods had set out to achieve.

Job descriptions, competency mapping, and job evaluation delivered as one coordinated project, matching the unified standard Dawn Foods set out to build.

The Results

Beyond the Numbers

The real value wasn’t the documents Dawn Foods walked away with, it was that job descriptions, competencies, and evaluations were finally built on the same underlying standard, the outcome Dawn Foods’ leadership had envisioned from the outset. People Perfect’s role was to turn that vision into a working system, one coherent enough that management could move straight into a market salary survey and build compensation decisions on it with confidence.
